Hamilton County Public Defender
Friends works closely with the Hamilton County Public Defender’s office to identify attorneys who might benefit from scholarship and training assistance by planning seminars, trainings and presentations to assist the lawyers who represent the poor in our community.

Gideon’s Promise
Friends has provided scholarship assistance for staff lawyers to attend this transformative training program. Gideon’s Promise is recognized for its goal of criminal justice reform by developing a movement of public defenders who provide zealous advocacy for the clients represented. They seek to accomplish this through training, mentorship and leadership development.

The National Criminal Defense College
The National Criminal Defense College in Providence, Rhode Island is considered the premier skill training program for criminal defense lawyers. Friends has been underwriting the cost of sending public defender and private practitioners each summer to this nationally recognized two week intensive training from the very beginning.
